Tahiti Cruise Review

For this Tahitian princess cruise we left Boston's Logan airport, flew aboard united (nice flight) to LAX & then on Tahitian air to Papeete, Tahiti. Tahitian air was excellent in serving breakfast & dinner, complimentary cocktail as well as soft drinks. Because of the flight time (8 hrs) I recommend taking an aspirin & getting up & walking to keep the circulation going to prevent any medical problems. We arrived at the cruise ship about 9:30 PM and immediately had dinner & refreshments. By the time we got to our balcony cabin our luggage was there. The cabin was very spacious & as we were to find out during the week our cabin steward was among the best. We unpacked & went to bed. The next am we awoke to the sounds of Papeete. It had quiet waters, beautiful landscape & plush green mountains. One thing we were not aware of, Nov. thru Apr. is there rainy season & we only had a couple of days out of complete sun.

Although all the islands listed in the itinerary were super we only took one princess land tour. It was in Apia, Western Samoa and was a catamaran combo sight seeing & swimming tour. The two hosts were unreal in their seamanship and comedy. Most of the ports we went to we just did sightseeing. The Tahitian ship & crew were among the best of all cruise lines we have been on. This smaller ship allowed us to roam more freely aboard & at the same time go to ports without ferrying in.

The entertainment is not as good on larger ships & was boring at times. However, the comedian: Mr. Gold was superb & we wished he was on every night. The wait staff were perfect with the Even though he knew we had little time to eat dinner, he just would not serve us or even take our order. When he finally did, we never did get to eat our entrees as the call for the airport bus came & we had to leave. I do strongly recommend princess cruise lines & especially the Tahitian princess, we had a wonderful cruise, met a wonderful princess staff and met wonderful Tahitians and met wonderful fellow cruisers.

To close we were also fortunate to be invited to have dinner with the ships captain, which we did. He is from England and surly has the English manners & charm. He even supplied the dinner wine which was out of this world. A complete gentleman such as one only meets in a lifetime. Enjoy!
