This page is about Alaskan Cruises. Many say that Alaskan Cruise Vacations are some of the exciting in the world. This site also provides Alaska Cruise Ratings, and information about Alaska Cruise Tours. In the summer Alaskan Cruises are simply the only way to go. Alaska Cruise is my vacation of choice. Alaskan Cruise ReviewThis was my very first cruise. I chose Alaska because I wanted to be in an environment that had cooler temperatures. We sailed from Vancouver on July 3rd and ended the cruise in Seward on July 10. From there we were greeted by our tour bus which shuttled us into Anchorage . Everything was great! Every view was spectacular. Every port was quaint and the people were very friendly and helpful when it came to sharing information about the history of their town. I went kayaking in Ketchikan , white water rafting and whale watching in Juneau , sports fishing in Skagway and viewed underwater marine life via a semi-submersible submarine in Sitka . I had the time of my life. The weather was PERFECT!!! The sun was out the entire week of my trip with the exception of Ketchikan , our first port of call. The temperatures were around 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit the entire trip. The Carnival Spirit is an impressive and gigantic ship. It's only about 1 1/2 years old. The staff is extremely attentive and accommodating. I had zero problems. One of the cruise guests who sat at my dinner table complained at dinner that no one had come to turn down her bed the night before. She told us the next night at dinner that when she got back to her room the previous night, that not only had they turned down her bed, but they also left her some chocolates on her pillow. She realized that one of the waiter staff must have overheard her conversation with us about this oversight and reported it to the proper person. At that point, she was very impressed with their service. The Carnival Spirit has something for everyone. An on board naturalist who helps to identify various marine life, animal life and glaciers, a library, an internet cafe, live jazz (excellent performers), folk music, comedy performances, Broadway shows, discos, casual and formal dining options. They also have an excellent salon and spa (1 1/2 hour hot rock massages) with the most incredible views you've ever seen. No cruise is complete without shore excursions. This is your only opportunity to really connect with the locals, view and experience life in Alaska and HAVE FUN!! Did I go over my budget? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes again.
